I took the deckchair out into the sun with my pile of books.. sat in the deckchair. Crash. The canvas split as it does through a damp winter, however carefully you have stored it away. So I went off on this bright, sunny and beautiful morning to the vasty garden centre which was, as I expected, heaving with customers., They also had fun Easter things - guess the weight of the Simnel Cake, have your face painted, hunt for easter eggs, and name the lamb - who was there in a pen with his mother, bleating away. That was in aid of Leukaemia Research, so I named him after the SIL (son-in-law) and made my way not into the plant and tree and grass seed and stone slabs and compost areas outside but into the great aircraft hanger which is the extended indoor store. Here is a small selection what I could have bought, apart from seeds or hoes.
A nice cream enamel bin labelled BREAD. A red and white spotted cushion. A book called 'Explore English Pubs,' or one called 'Old Photographs of Yorkshire.' A picnic rug. A bright yellow shirt. A nice silk tie with foxes on. A sideboard. A set of baskets on wheels. Sokme Nigella Lawson china. A set of 6 egg cups with hens on. A box of fudge. A bottle of expensive olive oil. A tin of toffees. A pink sparkly pen. A pink sparkly notebook. A clock. A silver pen in a glass holder. A doll`s house. A jar of peanut butter. A set of tiny tools with flowery handles. A fuchsia pink indoor plants watering can. A tartan covered dog basket.
And also some wooden benches, parasols and a patio heater. I could also, and did, have coffee and a hot cross bun.
Ah, but the replacement deck chair canvas - alas, no. Not even a whole new deckchair. They don` t stock those.
By the way, I don`t like to mention this, seems as if I have read that book called CLINCH THAT SALE or HOW TO SELL SELL SELL but the titles of books now in blue, in the text of the blog are links. You can read about a book and then, should you so desire, click on the link and go direct to its page on amazon. Ditto if you click on the book covers at the side. If you buy elsewhere, fine but if you do use amazon, the blog gets a tiny commission which helps to pay for the bandwidth.
