Susan - so so sorry. Do hope that your dog will be okay. Can sympathise as we too have had a traumatic week - although not with a dog but youngest with a burst eardrum...four sleepless nights and a temperature of 104 - scary...

I am so sorry to hear of Junior Border's accident, and am glad that he/she is off the danger list. They are such adventurous dogs that they will always be going off to the vet's to be reassembled and returned in working order. If a lampshade collar is being worn, I used to trim one side away a bit to allow for easier drinking and eating, otherwise the collar doesn't allow them to get close enough to the water / grub.
